Make a Difference ~ Be Persuasive

"Kids can take action many different ways. One way is through writing persuasive essays. One reason persuasive essays are important is because adults sometimes listen to kids but not to other adults. Persuasive essays make companies understand what they’re doing and help them decide if it’s even worth the money.

"I have some suggestions on how to write a good persuasive essay or letter. Use strong sentences because they describe problems clearly. Put your arguments in order of weakest to strongest. Finally, say thank you for reading your letter.

"If the company doesn’t listen to your letter, there are many other people you can write to. One person you can write to is the governor. The governor has the power to make laws that stops companies from doing bad things. However, the problem could go to other countries that are too poor to resist. A good example of this is DDT because it worked well as a pesticide, but it also gave people cancer. The U.S.A. banned the use of this pesticide but many other countries could only afford DDT." - David
