"As
a parent of a third grader, I was a little worried at
first about the field trip to Hidden Villa, particularly since
they were going to spend the night. My daughter's teacher
told the parents that the trip would help meet many of
the
science standards for third grade and would be an excellent
opportunity for the class to come together as a community.
But my daughter had never spent much time in the wilderness
and she had never slept away from our family before.
"After
the trip I was delighted to find out that the class had a
wonderful time on the farm and trails. I guess they
really enjoyed their guides who took them around. My
daughter couldn't stop talking about everything she learned.
She seemed particularly excited about the night hike and
sleeping in a cabin with five other girls and a parent. I
was pleasantly surprised because she had been scared about
spending the night and I had worried a little about her safety. Now
I'm hoping that my first grader will get to go to Hidden
Villa for an overnight field trip when he is in third grade."
