Hidden Villa
Guidelines ~ During Trip
During the Overnight:
- Your primary responsibility while on the overnight is to SUPERVISE
YOUR STUDENTS AT ALL TIMES. The Hidden Villa staff is available
to assist you with any needs you have, but their main responsibility
is the educational program.
- Set physical boundaries at the onset. For example: Do not enter animal pens, garden or private areas without a Hidden Villa guide.
- Plan and supervise free time. Small groups,
with adult supervision may explore the ranch. Remember,
do not enter animal pens or feed animals without permission
of appropriate
Hidden Villa staff. Small group activities can be planned
in or around the hostel living room and patio. Free time
should
NOT take place around or in the cabins.
- Make
sure your group stays on schedule. The schedule
should be reviewed with the students
so that they arrive on
time and are ready for the next activity. It is
important for your class is ready and on time
for any activities run
by
the HVEEP staff. When they are running the program,
HVEEP staff monitors the schedule and activities.
- Coordinate meal preparation and clean-up.
- Coordinate all student chore responsibilities.
- Participate in all activities, hikes, etc.
- Coordinate
the final clean-up and departure procedure with the hostel
staff. The Hostel motto is “Leave
the place better than you found it.”
After the Overnight:
Please evaluate the experience and give HVEEP staff any comments
