Guidelines ~ Suggested Menus
Breakfast: (the simpler the better as there is much to be done in the
morning)
- Bagels
with cream cheese, fruit and juice
- Cold
cereal (not pre-sweetened), milk
- Fruit
and healthy muffins
- Granola
- Yogurt
- Toast
and jam
Lunch: (Remember, lunches are packed during busy morning schedule
- ideally, in recyclable containers).
- Peanut
butter and jelly sandwich with fresh or dried fruit
- Meat
and / or cheese sandwich with trail mix
- Carrot
and celery sticks, cookies
- WATER
IN A REUSABLE WATER BOTTLE
Dinner:
- Spaghetti
with tossed salad
- Chili
with crackers or garlic bread
- Taco
or burrito bar
- Carrot
and celery sticks
- Yogurt
and fruit salad dessert
Snacks: Any evening snacks should
be sugarless
to
allow children
to go to
sleep easily. For
daytime or evening
snacks:
- Pretzels
- Nuts
- Sunflower
seeds
- Popcorn
- Trail
mix
- Fresh
or dried fruit
- Carrots
