WILDLife of the Bay Area
7:00 pm - 8:30 pm

HV Photo

Best for ages 6 up and adults
Touch an owl! Sniff a skunk! Respect a rattlesnake! Join lead Hidden Villa Naturalist, Garth Harwood, at the hearthside for a fascinating evening featuring local wildlife both big and small. Questions answered, myths debunked, and true stories shared. You may not choose to spend time around cougars, snakes and coyotes, but you may like to know more about them - and what to do if you DO find yourself among them! No live animals present, but plenty of cool things to investigate, then treat yourself to warm cocoa and cookies. Garth Harwood, Hidden Villa's Director of Education, has been investigating Bay Area wildlife from the age of two onward, spending every spare moment in nature study when he is not leading school groups or conducting staff or volunteer trainings. He was voted Northern California Environmental Educator of the Year in 2011 and recently (November 2014) achieved certification as a Level III Wildlife Tracker by CyberTracker International.
