For Youth, Entering 7-12th grade

Boiling, baking, mincing, and more!  Develop your cooking skills through this exciting, hands-on program.  Practice preparing delicious and nutritious recipes from scratch using farm-fresh produce.  Investigate the importance of sustainable agriculture and learn more about food systems from farm to fork.  No previous cooking experience required.

Shoots & Roots: Bitters Workshop (Sat. 28 Jul, 2018 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm)

Learn the history and cultural relevance of bitters, explore the aromatic side of Hidden Villa’s native and cultivated flora and aspects of their traditional use, and take home a kit for the home creation of bitters that bring the plants of the world to your beverages! 

This workshop will be taught by Shoots & Roots Bitters Co-Founder, Ashley DuVal. Ashley is a scientific consultant working on the breeding and genetics of cacao. She is pursuing her PhD in horticulture at the University of Florida.

For Youth, Entering 7-12th grade

Simmer, sauté, and celebrate the summer season!  Expand your culinary repertoire with new techniques and ingredients, then put your skills to the test as you prepare a family luncheon.  This fun and fast-paced program will help you cultivate creativity and independence in the kitchen.  Ability to follow a recipe autonomously and a passion for cooking required.

Rates stated as "per person" apply to both adults and children. Unless otherwise noted in program description, child rates apply to ages 2-12 and children UNDER 2 are free. Senior rate applies to ages 65 and up. Must present valid student identification to receive student discount. Limited Income option is for those who cannot otherwise afford to register.
