Blaine grew up in Mountain View & Los Altos. Blaine has worked with toddlers through college students in public schools, private schools, and nonprofits, including Hidden Villa! She’s thrilled to have served students throughout the Bay Area, Humboldt County, and the greater Boston area. Organizing and activism around housing, labor, and immigrant justice have also been important parts of Blaine’s life. Blaine’s own experiences visiting Hidden Villa as a toddler, teenager, and adult bring her back to the farm this year. She’s also been excited about the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to live and grow in such a stunning place within a supportive community. Finally, Blaine has come to Hidden Villa as part of her journey to develop skills teaching young people in ways that promote social & environmental justice on Ohlone land. Blaine loves hiking Hidden Villa’s trails, spending time with other interns, bonding with Hidden Villa’s animals, and highlighting hidden histories of this place and its people. Blaine’s favorite mission-related book is The Home Place by J. Drew Lanham.
