Katie grew up in San Mateo and attended Hidden Villa field trips and weekend programs. She began working at Hidden Villa as a CSA Farm intern where she developed the skills to inform a career in farming. After two years she was hired on as a full time Farm Coordinator. Her work involves the growing and distribution of food to CSA members and the Community Service Agency of Mountain View, as well as leading volunteer groups on the farm. Hidden Villa holds a special place in Katie’s heart as this ranch is where she first fell in love with farming and homesteading. Her experiences on the Hidden Villa property as child inspired the path of her life immensely. A farm tucked into the base of a 1600 acre forest is her dream come true! She hopes to support Hidden Villa’s mission by continuing to provide a safe space for people of all backgrounds to learn from its natural wonders. Katie enjoys hiking the Long Bunny Trail after a good rain- she loves the magic of the waterfalls and burst of fungi that comes in the spring. Katie’s favorite book is Braiding Sweetgrass: Indigenous Wisdom, Scientific Knowledge, and the Teachings of Plants by Robin Wall Kimmerer.
