Philip was born and raised in sunny Southwest Florida in the town of Port Charlotte. Philip has worked in residential summer camping and youth development for over 15 years. Prior to joining the Hidden Villa community, he was a Camp Director in both New York and Michigan. Philip was drawn to Hidden Villa because of the camp’s philosophy of developing young leaders who are committed to social and environmental justice. Philip believes that when given the appropriate tools and surrounded by a network of support, our young leaders are capable of changing our world for the better. Philip’s favorite activities at Hidden Villa are spending time in the garden, hanging out with the goats and enjoying meals with campers and hearing about their day. His favorite mission-related book is The Book of Dares: 100 Ways for Boys to Be Kind, Bold, and Brave by Ted Bunch and Anna Marie Johnson Teague.
