75-Minute Farm Tours

Description

Note:  With the exception of small groups, our Farm Tours are now full for the remainder of the year.  If you'd still like to apply, we will add you to our waitlist if we can't accommodate your group size or date.

To access the application form, scroll down and click the link provided.  Applications will be processed in the order they are received and we will try our best to accommodate your preferred date(s).  We'll provide you with a confirmation email as soon as we have processed the order.

Awaken your senses with our 75-minute, hands-on exploration of our working farm!  Students meet farm animals face to face and experience the colors, scents and tastes of the organic Education Garden.  Whether sinking fingers into a sheep's wool sweater, feeling the warmth of a freshly laid egg, or crunching into a root just pulled from the ground, students begin to appreciate the importance of the farm and garden in their daily lives.

Who Is This For?

Farm Tours are for Preschool, Transitional Kindergarten, Kindergarten and 1st Grade students.

Capacity

We can accommodate a maximum of 64 students and up to 32 adults per program (96 total participants). Students will be divided into small groups of 10-15 students to explore the farm.

Groups exceeding these maximum limits may need to visit Hidden Villa on multiple days or register for both the 9:15am and 11:00am tours on a particular date to accommodate the size of their group.

Cost

Our fee structure has changed.  We no longer require a $50 deposit.  We now charge by group size (rather than individual head count), which includes all children and adults (teachers and chaperones) in your group.

Scholarships:  Limited scholarship funds are available for schools with 25%+ of their students eligible for the Federal Free and Reduced Lunch Program.  Scholarships are detailed on the registration site.  Scholarships can only be granted September through February, and funds are often fully utilized soon after registration begins.

Don't miss out!  Sign up right away!

Siblings:  We discourage parents from bringing siblings, however, we realize it is sometimes necessary.  If included, siblings are considered program participants and should register together with your class (unless they are a carried infant).  Strollers are very difficult to maneuver around the farm and cannot access animal pens.

Extra Adults:  For the safety of our students and to provide adequate supervision and resources, we strongly discourage bringing additional adults who were not previously registered.

The adult headcount includes ALL teachers. (We do not charge for aids who are needed for special needs students. Please do not include them in your headcount).

To help communicate to parents the importance of bringing only registered adults on your Farm Tour, please see the wording in the Parent Letter in your confirmation email.

Duration

Tours begin promptly and last about 75 minutes.
