Position Title: Land Coordinator

Reports to: Agriculture and Property Director

Department: Property

Working Hours: Full time, non-exempt position with rotating weekend and holiday duty.

About the Position

  • Maintain and improve trails and program areas of the property with special attention to fire mitigation
  • Coordinate and implement Hidden Villa’s fire mitigation plan
  • Maintain Hidden Villa’s vehicle fleet
  • Maintain Hidden Villa’s roadways

Responsibilities

  • Upkeep of our extensive trail system including communications with program staff about changes/closures on the system
  • Fire control methods including brush clearance, selective pruning, possibly fire breaks
  • Responsible for monitoring the condition and uses of Hidden Villa’s vehicles and scheduling service
  • Heavy machinery operation in maintaining trees and roadways to allow program access and safety for program participants and staff

Desired Experience/ Qualifications

  • Experience in fire mitigation ideas and practice
  • Pruning, brush control, and mowing skills
  • Trail building skills
  • Tractor and equipment operation, mechanical skills, maintenance skills

Terms of Employment

Salary: $20 per hour

Onsite housing: This position is required to live on site; housing will be provided by Hidden Villa. Housing is currently in the Duveneck Garden Apartment.
