Audubon Bird Counts: You can do it!

For well over 100 years, regular folks have helped to create one of the world’s largest databases of scientific information on the abundance, diversity, and distribution of birds during the critical winter season. This class will prepare even novice birders to take part in this noble tradition by providing tips, tricks, and techniques that do NOT require advanced identification skills. And just in time to join an actual count this winter! If desired, your instructor will also facilitate connecting you to a local bird count.

Good to Know

1. Heavy rain cancels, as most class activities take place outdoors. Dress in layers for variable weather.
2. Classes may involve 1-2 miles of gentle walking.
3. Brief indoor slide presentations will necessitate face masks until further notice. Masks are optional outdoors.

Who Is This For?

Motivated students of nature, regardless of age. Information will be presented at an adult level. Children 12 and under must be accompanied by a responsible adult.

All Classes in the Seasonal Cycles Natural History Series are $30/person.

If you are an individual planning to take 4 classes in the series, you can sign-up for the Seasonal Cycles Natural History Series Bundle on the previous page for $100 for any four classes.
