Volunteers join our on-site Horticulturalist in maintaining Hidden Villa's ornamental garden spaces. Volunteers will have the opportunity to develop their experience with organic gardening, plant propagation, plant identification, care of native plants, and garden design. Hands-on work includes planting, pruning, weeding, irrigation, fertilizing, composting, and mulching. This volunteer opportunity is great for anyone from a master gardener to aspiring students of horticulture.
Requires an ongoing commitment to volunteer a minimum of two times per month.
Getting your hands in the soil and seeing the immediate impact of your volunteer work at Hidden Villa is very rewarding. Other benefits include:
- Hidden Villa Parking Pass
- Volunteer t-shirt
- Discounted rates on tickets to special events.
- Seasonal appreciation gatherings with handmade gifts for our volunteers
- Written letters of recommendation and official volunteer hours for external program requirements
Horticulture volunteers should love working outside, possess a general knowledge of horticulture, know how to safely use tools, and be comfortable working with minimal supervision. This opportunity is for volunteers who are a minimum of 18 years old. All volunteers must clear a background check.
