Connect with the animals and plants that enrich our daily lives! Students spend a full day interacting with farm animals and exploring the organic education garden.
They learn not only what animals provide, but discover unique animal characteristics and care-taking responsibilities. They might feed the chickens, participate in a "Cow Spa", work with wool, and assess the health of the animals.
In the garden, students examine just what goes into raising the plants that feed us. They will discover the critters that live and work in the compost. They will help complete an essential garden chore - such as seed-planting, mulching, compost sifting, or weeding. Then they will reap the benefits of their work by tasting some of the delicious goodies ready for harvest.
As a part of this program, we visit your classroom to help prepare students for their field trip by introducing topics relevant to the farm and garden. The visit is approximately 2 hours and includes an interactive presentation plus science-rich, hands-on learning stations.
When you receive your confirmation email, you'll see that a Classroom Visit date has been scheduled by Hidden Villa. If you need to schedule the Classroom Visit for another time, we will work with you to do that.
This program consists of:
A 2-hour preparatory Classroom Visit, scheduled at a mutually agreeable time; and
A visit to Hidden Villa lasting approximately 5 hours on the date you selected. Our typical day is 9am - 2:30pm, however, we can adjust the start time to meet your school and scheduling needs.
Please note that our fee structure has changed, starting Fall, 2019.

Hidden Villa does not mandate a specific student/adult ratio, but strongly suggests limiting it to approximately 8 students to one adult, for the purposes of supervision and support, while also allowing for the most students possible to participate. Our low adult- to-child ratio provides a safe and well-supervised visit, while optimizing students' educational opportunities.
The preparatory Classroom Visit is $125 for up to 40 students, and $250 for over 40 students.
Limited scholarship funds are available for schools with 25%+ of their students eligible for the Federal Free and Reduced Lunch Program. Scholarships are detailed on the registration site. Scholarship information can be found on the registration site and can only apply to programs conducted September - February. Funds run out quickly, so sign up early!
This program can accommodate a maximum of 64 students (with a total of 80 participants).
After the opening circle, students will be divided into smaller working groups of approximately 8 students to optimize their educational experience and interactions with their Hidden Villa teacher.
Hidden Villa is committed to making our EdVenture programs financially accessible to all, as our budget allows.
