Tauri grew up in East Los Angeles where the taco trucks are abundant and art and murals live on building walls. She also grew up in the San Bernardino desert also known as the Inland Empire, where the Badlands guide the sun and the 10E freeway leads to Joshua Tree National Park. Tauri has worked two summers at Hidden Villa and credits this land for her expanding connection to plants, clouds, flowers, animals and nature. She loves how the earth looks here at Hidden Villa– if you stand at the Dana Center Lawn looking toward the farm and up to the trees on the hill, the view creates an earthy blue snow globe filled with tress and sky. Magical! Tauri is drawn to Hidden Villa because of her love for nature. They also appreciate the regenerative farming that is being practiced and the loving community that she finds here. Their favorite activity is biking through the farm, seeing how the trees and clouds morph into shapes and creatures, and learning the mythical and spiritual properties of plants. Tauri’s favorite mission related book is “Book of Haikus” by Jack Kerouac.
