Description
Explore the wilderness of the Santa Cruz Mountains on our Bay to Sea backpacking trip. Campers will hike from the San Francisco Bay Area to the Pacific Ocean! This trip is an excellent introduction to backpacking, averaging 5 miles per day. Those with or without backpacking experience are welcome. Campers will learn basic wilderness skills, such as reading a map and camping with minimal impact on the land. They will also build lasting and caring relationships with friends and the environment.
A packing and gear list will be provided within your Welcome Packet after registration. If you need assistance coming up with the required gear, please reach out as we can help ensure campers have everything they need for the expedition!

Youth entering 10th – 12th Grades in Fall 2026.
Price
Bay to Sea is $2,200 for the 2 week long program.
Financial aid is available by request for all youth and families with financial need. Applications will be thoughtfully considered on a case by case basis and we will notify you as soon as possible of your scholarship amount. In line with our camp values of inclusion, equity and accessibility, we strongly encourage children/youth who have experienced marginalization or underrepresentation to apply.
To apply for financial aid, please complete the “Optional Financial Aid Form” located in the online UltraCamp portal during and after the registration process. *If the $125 deposit is outside of your means at time of Registration, please email [email protected] to receive support.*

Registration
Early Registration opens to Returning Camp Families at 10 A.M. on Monday, December 15th, 2025. An email will be sent that contains the Early Access Passcode.
Registration for new families and everyone else will be at 10 A.M. on Saturday, January 10th, 2026.
