How to end your summer? Come to the first ever Riekes Nature and Hidden Villa campout ever! At this five-day campout, campers will experience a blend of bushcraft, survival skills, naturalist knowledge, hiking, gardening, farm animal encounters, swimming in the pool, navigating the ropes course, archery and more! Combining the unique bushcraft and wilderness skill sets of the Riekes Nature staff, and the incredible farming background of the Hidden Villa staff, this camp is sure to offer an unforgettable campout adventure!
During the day we will focus on the core routines of nature connection, learning hands-on survival skills (including fire-by-friction), learning about native plants and animals, engaging with the farm animals (and spinning some wool!), visiting the gardens and getting our hands in the soil, preparing tasty snacks from the garden, working on crafts (such as basketry), going on treasure hunts using a map and compass, and playing lots of games! At night we will share meals, listen to stories, sing along to the guitar, play night-time scout games, and go on night hikes!
