Tree and Shrub Planting Volunteer Day

Description

We are planting the first of our pasture hedgerows this fall. This is part of a multiyear pasture restoration project for our largest (and neediest) non-irrigated pasture. Our restoration goals are to improve soil health, extend our grazing season with drought-tolerant fodder, and develop the pasture as a demonstration space/living classroom for program participants. We will be planting a mix of trees and shrubs, both native and non-native, including Tagasaste (Tree Lucerne), Valley Oak, Honey Locust, and Western Redbud.

Please park at the Dana Center Parking lot, just around the bend when you enter the property.

Anyone under the age of 16 will need to be accompanied by a guardian. If you have a group larger than 2 people. please email us at [email protected] so we can plan on hosting your group.
