Hidden Villa History Tour

Description

Engage in the rich history of our land, from its original inhabitants thousands of years ago, through the Mission Era and Gold Rush, the Duveneck years, to today.  Learn about Hidden Villa's rich history of conservation, community building, social justice, youth and environmental education, and agriculture.  Explore the almost 100 year old Duveneck House’s unique legacy and craftsmanship, learn about the historic White House and barn (said to have been built in the 1860s when it might have served as a Stage Coach stop), and see a historic blacksmith forge where much of the ironwork in the Duveneck House was made.  Come with a curious mind and thoughtful questions.

Who Is This For?

This tour is intended for an adult audience, but children and youth with a strong interest in history are entirely welcome.

Please note, registration in advance is required.

Good to Know

This is a walking tour that takes place both indoors and outside. Please dress for the weather and wear comfortable shoes.  Minimal elevation change, but does involve flights of stairs.  We encourage you to bring a sack lunch to enjoy at Hidden Villa before or after the tour.
