Description
Josephine’s Retreat is the perfect space to unwind, unplug and reconnect with nature. This small, rustic cabin is secluded on the hillside overlooking the farm valley. It has a large porch with stunning views of the Santa Cruz Mountains Foothills. The cabin has a small kitchenette (microwave, mini fridge, sink, hot plate, hot water kettle) a queen sized bed, desk and small table.
Important Information:
The cabin has a composting toilet located in a nearby outhouse. There is no shower or hot water currently at the facility. There is no nearby parking. The walk from the Main Parking lot is about a ⅓ of a mile with a steep incline to the cabin in the last 200 feet.

Q) Does Josephine’s Retreat have heat?
A) Yes. There is a space heater.
Q) Is Alcohol allowed?
A) Yes. Alcohol is allowed only at the rental facility. It is not permitted anywhere else on the property.
Q) Are linens included in the rental?
A) Yes. They can be picked up from the Hostel Office upon arrival and returned to the Hostel Office upon departure.
Q) Do the linen sets include towels?
A) No.
Q) Is there a place where I can shower?
A) Yes. You will have access to a shower at the Wolken Education Center.
Q) Can we bring our own linens?
A) Yes. Please indicate in advance if you choose to bring your own linens.
Q) Is there wifi?
A) No.
Q) Is there cell service on the property?
A) There is very limited cell service on the property. It is best to make all communications ahead of time.
Q) Are dogs and pets allowed?
A) No dogs and pets are not allowed inside the facilities unless they are a certified service animal.
Q) How does the composting toilet work?
A) There is a small waste bucket with a can liner under the toilet seat. There are wood shavings available for before and after use to minimize odors. Once a liner is full, guests can tie up the liner and place the bag into a receptacle behind the outhouse for waste removal.
