Farm & Wilderness Field Trip for grades 2-6.

Description

Trek through the wilderness, interact with farm animals, and explore our organic garden- all in a single action-packed day! Farm and Wilderness Exploration invites students to appreciate the connectedness of all life while discovering the unique characteristics and roles of plants and animals on the trail and farm. Students build confidence and develop new insights as they inspect an animal track on the trail, meet a banana slug along the creek, examine critters in the compost pile, or pet a farm animal.

Who Is This For?

Farm and Wilderness EdVenture is for students in grades 2 through 6.

We will send you pre-recorded materials to cover with your students before your visit to Hidden Villa. There will be no charge for these preparatory materials! 

A visit to Hidden Villa lasting approximately 3-4.5 hours on the date you selected (based on our mutual agreement). Our typical day is 10am - 2:30pm, however, we can adjust the exact duration to meet your school and scheduling needs. 

Cost

$21/per person (same price for children and adults).

The maximum number of students we can accommodate per program is 42 on Tuesdays, and up to 55 on Thursdays and Fridays, plus chaperones.

Hidden Villa does not mandate a specific student/adult ratio, but strongly suggests limiting it to approximately 8 students to one or two adults, for the purposes of supervision and support, while also allowing for the most students possible to participate.  Our low adult- to-child ratio provides a safe and well-supervised visit, while optimizing students' educational opportunities.  

PLEASE NOTE: Due to the Covid health emergency, Our staff will not be making our usual, pre-trip school visits. To help students prepare for their visit, your confirmation email will include a link to a pre-recorded materials to cover with your students before your visit to Hidden Villa. There will be no charge for these preparatory materials! 

Limited scholarship funds are available for schools with 25%+ of their students eligible for the Federal Free and Reduced Lunch Program.  If your school qualifies, please let us know on your reservation request.

Capacity

We can accommodate a maximum of 35 participants per a time slot (this includes students and adults). If you must exceed that count, please contact us at [email protected] or (650) 949-8644 to see if we can make an exception.

After the opening circle, students will be divided into groups of approximately 8 students, depending on staffing ratios.
